How Can I Download Mail Washer? A few responses was answered regarding a question I asked concerning deleting unwanted mail with/without option of unsubscribe available. One Option that was suggested was Mail Washer. I tried Downloading program & having great difficulty doing it. I took a look at the mail washer site. There appear to be two versions one for end users and one for mail servers. The mail server software is not for end users and should not be installed on your computer. It appears to be a mail filtering program similar to SpamAssassin that is designed to run on mail servers such as your ISP's mail servers. This appears to be the download link for the version that will work on your computer in combination with a mail program such as Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express:
You got me interested and I'm taking a look at it too now. At first glance I'm not impressed. By default it has an RBL configured that has not existed for over two years resulting in ALL email being marked as possible spam. If they have not updated their product in two years, or don't care to fix problems like that, what other problems does it have? No thanks. :)

I've recently purchased Mail Washer Pro to help get rid of spam off Outlook express, but unfortunately it wont seem to work. I've set up my mail account, and when I go to check mail it gives me the error;

I've tried their wizard and checked with all the settings that I can but can't seem to solve the problem.
I was told to put .b9 after the POP3 address in Outlook express but that hasn't done anything or me either.

Thanks Sick of SPAM! What program should I use to fight it? I am so sick of SPAM. Last year I bought Mail Washer and it seemed to work for a bit. But now for some reason I am getting just tons. I changed my e-mail address not to long ago and I really don't want to have to do that again.

America... YAY! replied: "first of all, I think the spam is coming because of spyware on your computer. download adaware at lavasoft.com. Or you can download spybot at spybot.com. Make sure you get the free version which is great! when you have installed either one, run that program and it will get rid of most of your spyware. Spyware are stupid little programs that you somtimes download when going to sites and click "okay". What the program I told you to just download does is, it deletes those spyware programs. Now for your other issues of spam. I suggest not putting your email address when a website asks for it. They sometimes sell your email to other people who spam you out. Next... I suggest you use your Spam filter. usually all you have to do is right click on a certain email that you know is spam and then click block or something to that effect. GOOD LUCK!!!! Spam sucks, just remember if you do not know who it is asking for your email, dont give it to them. Next I also suggest you have another email account so you can type that email address just incase you really want to see what is behind that pop up."
